When Anne Paso designer founded the company Lovi , its main objective was to work with sustainable materials and support local production. Both the trees and the Christmas decorations are locally produced Lovi in Finland from PEFC-certified wood from the northern forests.

Fabien Cappello student of Royal College of Art has created a collection of furniture obtained from discarded Christmas trees.

Cappello said that the draft is not about waste collection or recycling, but rather how people integrate with urban environments.
